Congratulations, Readers: You Sent Principal Shea to the Roof!
Our students, motivated by Stephanie Joyce (Crocker Farm’s reading teacher), made a deal with the principal at the end of the 2017-18 school year,: If they collectively read 50,000 pages over the summer, Principal Derek Shea would climb up to the roof of the school building to celebrate their reading goals.
So on Monday afternoon, with the help of our local fire department, Principal Shea was on the roof, holding up a sign with the number of pages read—57,327—with the students and staff cheering him on.
Congratulations, readers! And thank you, Ms. Joyce, Principle Shea, and the Amherst Fire Department!
