Auditions for The Pied Piper: March 4, 4:15-6:15 p.m.
Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) musical production of THE PIED PIPER on Monday, March 4, at the Amherst Middle School Cafeteria from 4:15 pm to 6:15 p.m. All those auditioning should arrive at 4 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. What do you do when your town is overrun by ravenous rats? Sara, an orphan girl, and the other Townspeople of Hamelin Town turn to the Mayor of Hamelin and the Council when their town is threatened. They then call on the Pied Piper to save them from the troublesome creatures. The Mayor’s children, staff, and the Cooks also join in the endeavor. Find out what happens when the town chooses not to pay the Piper and the children are led away from the town along with the rats! Follow the original twist on this familiar story as it weaves its way through a landscape full of surprises!
Students from Kindergarten to 12th grade are encouraged to audition. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week, and to take on essential backstage responsibilities. There are 50-60 roles available, with parts in every age group. This is a group audition, and no advance preparation is necessary–though a smile always helps! There is a $55 Registration Fee due at the audition for all those who are cast—additional siblings $30 (fee waivers are available).
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 4:00-8:30 Monday, March 4th – Friday, March 8th. Not everyone will need to be present at every rehearsal.
THE PIED PIPER will be presented Saturday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Amherst Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students under 18 and seniors.
