QUOTES FROM THE CHILDREN
“It’s such a good way to connect to your heritage… to connect with your culture… where you’re from.”
– Milena Sedrakyan, 12th grade
“That gives me the opportunity to know different cultures and communicate with my family out[side] of [the] USA. I am proud of my Mexican and Salvadorian roots.”
– Julissa Reyes Alvarado, 5th grade
“Having the ability to speak two languages is a special talent— one with the power to break down barriers and expand horizons… going to Bilingual Club surrounds you with other people who hold these powers, in addition to helping you develop your own.”
– Miguel Pinero Jacome, 10th grade
“Being a part of the biliteracy club helped me build on the skills that I had. I love being able to speak different languages since it opens up the ability to communicate with people of different cultures, backgrounds, and communities.”
– Katherine Amaya, 12th grade
