In honor of Human Rights Day, the Amherst Chapter of Amnesty International is hosting a panel on climate injustice with Solomon Goldstein-Rose and Irene LaRoche, moderated by Mohamed Elgadi.

Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM at the Jones Library, 43 Amity Street, Amherst MA.

This panel builds on the momentum of Amnesty International’s participation in the “People’s Summit on Climate, Rights and Human Survival” this past September. Mobilization at the local level to make an impact globally is crucial to confronting our urgent and pervasive climate crisis.

Given this imperative, this annual Human Rights Day commemoration welcomes climate expert Solomon Goldstein-Rose along with Irene LaRoche who teaches the intersection of human rights and the climate crisis with her ARMS students; the panel will be moderated by Mohamed Elgadi who has conducted research and taught environmental science.
