iReady Classroom Math Update
If you have been following updates from ARPS you will have seen that the Amherst and Pelham School Committees have approved iReady Classroom Math as our new high quality, core math curriculum for K-5th grade students beginning Fall 2022.
The decision to bring iReady Classroom Math to our students and educators came after a six-month process of the Math Review Committee studying many curricula, supporting the pilot of two curricula, and collating feedback and input from teachers, students, and parents to inform a recommendation on iReady being the curriculum most aligned to the district goals and priorities.
Curriculum Associates, the publishers of iReady Classroom Math, has already worked to create a partnership with our district. Recently, their collaboration with ARPS enabled the educators and administrators to participate in initial professional development about the components and structure of the math program. Ongoing professional development will be a hallmark of the implementation year for this new curriculum in our schools.
Planning is also underway to develop opportunities for families to be introduced to iReady Classroom Math and learn about the many features that will be available to them to support the home-school connection for their child’s math learning. The Office of Teaching and Learning looks forward to sharing more about that later in the summer. You are also invited to explore the iReady Family Center online where you can learn about the classroom program and helpful tips for supporting math learning at home.
