Open House+Bake Sale
Dear Crocker Farm Families,
We are all excited about the upcoming Open House: Thursday, Oct. 12, 6 – 8:30 p.m. This is a school event, but the PGO will be holding a bake sale for which we would appreciate any sweet/savory treats you’d like to bring for us to sell (store-bought or homemade). We consider this bake sale a big one, as HALF of the money raised will be donated for relief in Puerto Rico and Mexico. The situation in both places is horrific, and we are feeling it as a community, as many of our families are from there.
Here are places families can donate to directly, if interested:
1. A pediatric hospital in PR, which a member of our CF family—a doctor who was raised in PR—is deeply concerned about as it is running on generators while attempting to support not only its patients, but the broader community. Here is the link for the hospital (http://bit.ly/2xO2R7S) and the link for the donation page (http://bit.ly/2wozwNA)y.
2. You can also donate money directly to Freedom Credit Union, which has the Western MA Puerto Rico Relief Fund.
3. The UNIDOS relief fund via the Hispanic Federation (http://bit.ly/2wUsBjH), which is local to Puerto Rico and gives 100% of funds to the relief effort.
We are also looking for fruit (apples, oranges, watermelon) for Field Day (Friday, Oct. 13) so our kids have snacks in between events. You are welcome to drop them off at the Open House if you are able to.
Thank you for all your support!
